Winter Inspiration: 100th Post

Hey Guys!

I couldn't decide what to do for this special occasion, but If you haven't heard, history is being made on the east coast and we had a Snow Day today! So I thought that because my first post was made on a Snow day, I would do another post in the snow where it all started.  What an amazing transformation and journey I have had over these one hundred posts! I was thinking about doing an #AskFabulous but those never seem to work well...

But I say LET IT SNOW!

Lets start from the bottom! I'm wearing my black combat boots and grey & white speckled calf high socks that I purchased at my local rac room shoes. Next I'm wearing some dark blue skinny jeans from Wallflower. On my torso I am wearing a dark blue tank under a purple quarter length sleeve sweater that I purchased from the Loft. Then I topped it off with my beautiful scarf that my grandma crocheted herself. Finally I threw on an old trench coat that my mom purchased from JCPennys.

Makeup:
I first started by using my poreless primer from Tarte Cosmetics. Then I used my beauty blender to apply my new full-coverage foundation by Tarte also. I honestly love this foundation. I'm breaking out everywhere so I needed something full coverage. I then used my Instant Age Rewind  Eraser Concealer to highlight and conceal my blemishes. I set that with my powder foundation from Physicians Formula. To bring some color to my face I used some Cheekers Blush from Covergirl in a pink color ( the exact name had rubbed off). I applied that on the apples of my cheeks and brought it upwards. I contoured my face using my mineral bronzer from Mineral elements. I filled in my eyebrows just a bit with my eyebrow pencil from Maybelinne New York. I put some berry toned red lipstick on my lips. For my eyes used the Naked 2 pallet and the Naked basics pallet to combine matte and shimmery shades and to  create a warm girly look. Finally I topped it off  by tightlineing  my eyes with black eyeliner and winging it slightly and putting some Pumped Up mascara on my eyelashes.

Hair:
I channeled my inner Elsa with this super cool side french braid. Before braiding I waved out my hair with my Bed head waver that I received for Christmas.

Comment if you had school off today! Thank you all for continually coming back every week and reading, it makes me so happy.

Into The Woods, Kid President, and 171 Medals

2015 is going to be a great year for the movies, I can just tell. I recently saw the Broadway musical turned movie, Into the Woods! I absolutely loved it. The cast was spectacular and the music was so amazing. I haven't been able to get any of the songs out of my head, luckily YouTube has the entire soundtrack online which is AWESOME!

Yesterday after I finished my normal Friday routine (stalking on social media, Netflix reruns, the works) and I was feeling a little artsy. I grabbed some of my brushes and some cream  shadows and just started dreaming. I got inspired by Into the Woods and created a tree scene and I think it turned out really cool. If you enjoy musicals, then go... INTO THE WOOD

Kid President:
Awhile back, in seventh grade, my teacher showed our class an inspirational video featuring a boy calling himself "Kid President". I recently rediscovered his videos and I love them so much. The message this boy spreads is amazing. I love the encouragement he spreads and his laughter is contagious. PLUS HE FAVORITED MY TWEET :)

171 Medals:
As many of you know I was a gymnast for 10 and a half years and I competed for 6 of those. Over that time I have collected many medals and trophies (and I'm extremely grateful for all of them) . I really never counted them or anything, I always just displayed them on my wall. After about 2 years, from when I "retired", I decided it was time to count them up. With each one I put on, it brought me back to when I won them. My friend Kaylee helped me put them on and somehow we got them all around my neck, 171 in total. All I have to say is... I almost fell over.

The Winter Tag!

Hello all you Beautiful People,
If you follow me on twitter you will see that I was over the moon yesterday! I received many new page views this week and I'm floored! I just can't believe it! I have been waiting to hit 4000 and to see over 4200 the other day was just amazing. Thank you guys so much for making my day!!!

I was thinking of continuing makeup basics today but I felt like having a little more fun. So I decided to to do the winter Tag. Lets get into it Shall we?

Winter Tag <3

What are your top 2 winter Beauty essentials?

I love glittery eye shadows to bring some color to my pale non sun kissed face.
I also must have berry toned or plum lips.

What are your top 2 winter fashion essentials?

Without a doubt long socks and thick faux fur lined coats. I guess you could say that my school is open campus so, I'm always outside. In the snow. Freezing to death.

What shoes do you tend to wear most in the winter?

I'm really into fringe boots and combat boots. Also when I'm having a down day I like to wear my knock off uggs. Anything to keep me warm.

Favorite Winter Accessory?

Big big scarves...

Favorite Winter themed Nail polish?

I love wearing red nail polish in the winter. It keeps my holiday mood running through the cold winter months.

Hot Coco or Hot Apple Cider?

Hot coco all the way , unless it is Swiss Miss, in which case... Oh well.

Favorite Winter Candle?

Anything vanilla or cinnamon scented.

Snowboarding or Skiing?

Snow tubing, yeah that's more my speed. If I even attempted to ski I'd probably end up crashing into a tree.

Have you ever gone ice skating? Are you any good?

Yes I actually go ice skating quite frequently. I have to say I am pretty good, I can even do a spin! I understand that's probably not the proper name for it and I want to apologize.

Does it snow where you live?

Yes! I have had multiple snow days already.

Have you ever made a snowman?

I have actually, well it was more of a ice man. The temperatures got extremely cold and froze the existing snow.

What holiday do you celebrate?

Christmas!

Favorite Holiday Song?
Probably The Christmas Song or Baby Its Cold Outside.

Favorite movie?

The Hallmark Channel in General

Favorite Winter Treat?

Cookies. Chocolate Chip Cookies. Again have you seen my twitter bio?

If you were to ask Santa for one all guaranteed gift, what would it be?
That's such a difficult question. Probably the basic stuff like world peace, and an end to world hunger. But if it had be something crazy , it would have to be the ability to fly.

Do you have anything planned for this winter?
Well break is over but I am hoping to go snow tubing this weekend.

Makeup Basics: The Base

Hey Guys!

Happy 2015 everybody! I hope you had an amazing holiday season, I know I did. Well everyone it's a new year and that signifies a fresh start. @ajlebs on Instagram asked for Contouring 101 and Basic Makeup application and I thought, "What a better way to start off the new year, then by building a strong base of knowledge?" So this is what we will do!

With every look you do, you must  start off with  the base! (cause baby I'm all about that base.) Sometimes I do my eyes first ( in order to reduce clean up time) but it seemed obvious to start with the largest part. The skin on your face is very delicate so before putting on any face makeup you always need to make sure that your face is clean and moisturized. Even if you have oily skin! Remember no two faces are alike so your skin care routine may be different then your friend's routine. It's all about what works for you!

There are many different types of bases you can use including liquid foundation, tinted moisturizer, BB cream, CC cream, powder foundation, mineral foundation, the list goes on and on! You just have to find what works for you. Makeup routines are all about personalization.
My favorite out of all of them is BB cream. "Beauty Balm" is a light weight substitute for heavy foundation. I love BB cream because it does a bunch of different things in one product as opposed to traditional foundations. My two favorites are the Dream Pure BB cream from Maybelline New York and The Super BB cream from Physicians formula. Both of these are amazing for people with acne and I enjoy them both very much.

First I squeeze a pea sized amount of cream on the back of my hand. Then I warm it up ,for easy blending, by swirling it slightly. I then take my ring finger and swipe streaks of the cream on all spots of my face. Two on each cheek, three on the chin, up my nose, on my temples, and three on the forehead. Whatever is left I swipe on my neck. Then taking my dampened beauty blender I spread and blend it into my face.

The best thing about them in my opinion is that they are oil free which is great because I have a water slide for a T-Zone!

If you have super bad acne and want a heavier coverage then it's best to go for a liquid foundation. This is going to give you the greatest success.

Ways To Apply:

1. The Beauty Blender: This is my all time favorite way of applying any face makeup ( cream based).  A beauty blender when damped really blends out the cream in the most natural and beautiful way. They are super easy to use and it feels really nice on your skin.
2. A foundation brush: This brush can be used to apply liquid foundations, BB and CC creams, and also cream blush. I do not really care for this method of application because it can tend to look streaky and I mush prefer a softer look as I am only 15.
3. Powder Brush: This brush can be used to apply powder foundation
4. Flat Kabuki: This brush can be used for mineral foundation application.
