On Being Hopeful + Bloggers Problems

On Being Hopeful...
I have had a very frustrating journey with my skin. Every time I try to use a product  to clear up my acne it works for about 2 weeks and then stops working. I've never been able to figure out why my skin hasn't been clearing up. I still haven't been able to figure it however I have finally have a glimmer of hope. My mom finally caved and I have started using the Proactive + Complete Care System. I am definitely hoping that it performs its so called "magic" and I will finally have close to perfect skin.

Blogger Problems:
I've been having a little writers block lately. I just really haven't been as inspired as I used to be in the summer . I apologize so much for not posting as much as I should. I still need to work out the times when I will be able to sit down and write a post. I just don't want to put mediocre content out there anymore. So I thought I would turn to you all! You can either comment on this post ( by either clicking on the title and scrolling to the bottom or if you on mobile click " Post a Comment" ) or DM me on Instagram @fabulouslyme21 with ideas of what you would like to see. If I like it I just might post it. I'd also love to do and AskFabulous post where you can ask me a bunch of questions so you can also DM me those.

I'm also very disappointed the way the website comes across on mobile. If any of you are bloggers you know what I mean...

My High School Realization

Hey guys! Long time no see. How was your first day of school? I really hoped you had a good one. Mine was so chaotic! I'm still getting adjusted but I will get used to it ...I hope.  So as most of you know I started school on Wednesday of last week and I've realized a lot of things. I thought I'd share with you my realizations and struggles of the first week of school.

1. Actually getting up in the morning, not the first day, BUT THE SECOND! The first day your so pumped up, you get up on time. But the second day you literally want to melt into your bed and just stay there for all eternity.
snooze gif
2. Figuring out your schedule. If it was not for knowing at least one person in each of my classes, this would have been such a HUGE problem for me. There's just so many places you need to be and there all in different locations ITS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE!!!
 image

3. Just because you use primer, that does not mean that by the end of the day you won't look like a sweaty, sleepy, zombie. I mean I took so much effort in the morning to make sure my makeup looked perfect and after 7 and 1/2 hours it all means nothing!

image
4. Teachers who give you homework on the first day are the worst. Sure this may be just a short response, or a couple math problems, BUT ITS STILL HOMEWORK! HOW COULD YOU BE THIS CRUEL :O

5. Its so terribly tempting (that's fun to say) to wear sweats. I have a personal rule about not wearing sweat pants to school because I feel like it shows that you just don't care and that's not how I want to come off to my teachers. ( Can you say Goody-To-Shoes) But they just feel so good and comfy and I just wanna wear them BUT I CAN'T.
The Difference Between Freshman Year And Senior Year In College
6. Social media will be your savior. If you follow someone on Instagram, I feel like it is a lot easier to talk to them in real life. Its sounds weird but I feel like if they accept your request, its kind of green light to say " hey it's actually okay if you talk to me ".

7. For me gym class actually doesn't suck first period. Since I go to an Arts High School, are gym unit right now is Yoga ( you jelly ?).  Its such a nice way to get unstressed before the intensity that is my day of High School Education.

8. Lunch on the first day is Scary as... well you know what I mean! Everybody just automatically knows who their going to sit with and where their going to sit. Then your just standing there debating if you should try to sit by a stranger or man up and eat in the bathroom.... Oh and school lunch is DISGUSTING!

image

9. Freshman Friday is not a real thing!

10. In an extra boring class its fun to have a buddy who you can make jokes with the entire time. Sure I should be listening but...

6 School Makeup Essentials + My Plan

1. BB Cream. Waking up in the morning for me is always a struggle. Because of this I like to use a BB cream instead of a liquid foundation. BB cream is a great essential because it is one product that does a million different things. This way you can cut down the time it takes you to get ready by a good five minutes.

2. Eye lid Primer. This product is so essential for school. The school day is 6-7 hours long. That is more than enough time for your eye shadow to look like a muddy mess. By using eyelid primer, it will ensure lasting eye shadow perfection for longer.

3. A good mascara. Long, black, and curled eyelashes really complete any look. I would opt for a waterproof mascara opposed to a non waterproof one because of the fact that they don't smudge and nobody likes raccoon eyes.

4. A nude eyeliner. By putting nude eyeliner on your water line, it immediately makes you look less tired and more refreshed. Now nobody has to know that you forgot it was a school night and that got caught up in the Netflix web...AGAIN!

5. Face Primer. As I said before school is SO LONG! The flawless self that you are in the morning
  flawless animated GIF
Is not going to be the same face after it's all said and done. A primer will fix that problem and make for a more lasting look. I personally like to use primers that have a pore minimizer in it because my pores are literally the size of the grand canyon!

6. A killer eyeliner. Eye shadow routines can take forever. If your in a pinch go for eyeliner instead. Once you get good at it, eyeliner can be a real life saver. Just make sure that you let it dry so you don't smudge it and ruin all your hard work.

My Plan
I start school in TWO DAYS!!! I'm super nervous but excited at the same time. Speaking of school, I thought I would just touch base with you all on what you can look forward to on my blog this school year and when I will be posting. I don't know all the specifics yet but I can tell you what my current plan.

I am hoping to post between 2-3 times a week. This might change but as far as I know, this is what I am hoping to accomplish! I'm looking forward to continue this journey with you all and I'm really hoping I can include more of my own photography soon. I'm also really looking forward to the fall season and sweater weather so be on the lookout for that!

The Ice Bucket Challenge?

Hey Guys!
Has anyone heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge? Basically what happens is you fill a bucket with ice and water and you must dump it on your head. The reasoning behind is it to raise awareness for ALS commonly know as Lou Gehrig's Disease. This disease is so awful and affects about 30,000 Americans today. After you complete the challenge you must nominate 1 or multiple people to do the challenge or donate to the ALS fund. Many people complete both.

Social media has been lit ablaze by the Ice Bucket Challenge and the funds to help raise money for ALS have sky rocketed. Not only is this a fun way to get the word out about ALS, it shows the new era of communication we know live in!

I was nominated by my friend Dara Holloman to do the challenge and of course I accepted. My sister was very happy about dumping water on my head and I was excited to get the word out! I decided to jazz mine up a bit, just to make it a little different. I hope you enjoy!

How To Have a Successful School Year!

1. Leave all the drama behind. Last school year is over and it will never return, (unless of course you build a time machine). So whatever happened last year forget about it and start the year of fresh. Nobody likes to hold grudges forever so just let it go! There are benefits to it:

  • Healthier relationships
  • Greater spiritual and psychological well-being
  • Less anxiety, stress and hostility
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Fewer symptoms of depression
  • Lower risk of alcohol and substance abuse

2. Have an open mind. A new school year brings new opportunities. Be open and alert so when opportunity knocks you will actually be able to hear it. Try doing something you never thought you would do because you were too scared or believed you wouldn't be able to accomplish it. If you put your mind to it, you can do anything.

3. Set goals for yourself. By setting goals this puts good pressure on you to accomplish something this school year . It also will  keep you on track throughout the year. Whenever you finish or complete one of your goals just check it off the list.

4.Be organized. Make it a major priority this year to stay organized. By doing so you will have increased your chances of being successful. Keep your assignments written down in a planner so you can insure that they will be done within your time limits.
Tip: Have each class you take be represented by a color. This way it make it easier to distinguish what you really should be lugging home each day.
tired gif animated GIF
5.Get a good night's rest. You're body is like a cell phone, when it's not fully charged its more likely that its going to run out of energy while your in school. Sleep is so important to the success of your school year. It is scientifically harder to retain information if you are sleep deprived.
mfw animated GIF
6.  Just do your homework and get it over with. Homework can seem like a drag sometimes but we have it for a reason, so just get over the fact that it seems like torture and finish it, because you have to.

7. Get involved. By getting involved in clubs and projects you get your name out there. Extra curricular activities look great on college applications and you're more likely to make friends. By joining a club that you're passionate about you meet people who have common interests with you.
tumblr animated GIF
8. Make sure to prioritize your time wisely. Your school year is likely to get crazy so write down everything you need to get done and when it must be done. Look at it and see where you can fit everything in. Also if you find that you have absolutely no time for any social life at all, you might need to see what your willing to give up. DON'T SPREAD YOUR SELF TO THIN. Its important to have a little me time once in a while.
Ariana Grande Be Yourself animated GIF
9.  Be Yourself. School is the perfect place to figure out who you are and what you are becoming. Know what you stand for and don't let anybody change that. In the words of Shaliene Woodley " YOU DO YOU, I’M GONNA DO ME, SHE’S GONNA DO SHE"
Alicia Silverstone Clueless animated GIF
10. Dress for you. This is a rule I absolutely love to follow. If your not a fan of the next big trend don't wear it! You're personal style is one of the things that make you unique. Be comfortable in what your wearing and let the clothes you wear reflect your personality.

Major Fashion News Alert!!!!

Bethany Mota ( AKA MacBarbie07) was just a guest judge on Project Runway! My mind is literally blown on how far shes come. Her critiques for the contestants were so well thought out and if I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure she is the youngest guest judge they've ever had (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
Bethany Mota is an inspiration to all of the young girls who feel like their living on the island of misfit toys. Her success is not only measured in her teen choice award, or her major YouTube success, or even her millions of followers on social media sites, but her ability to reach out to people and make them feel special and beautiful and a part of something! Bethany congrats on all your huge success this is such a huge milestone for you! All I have to say is keep riding the wave and see where it takes you because all of this is only the beginning!

Introducing Josie Baker!

If you didn’t know this already , I.Love.YouTube. I’m serious, it’s an obsession. While other people maybe spending there summer, partying the night away,  I’m always at my computer. I mean who needs a social life anyways...* cue crickets*
YouTube is such a great place to gain information, entertainment, and a sense of community.  And Speaking of YouTube I’m very happy to introduce to you all ,my friend , Josie Baker. She is one of my ( very talented ) old friends from musical theater camp! She has just started a beauty and fashion channel and I’d love for you to check it out! She’s going to be a sophomore this year and is super excited about launching her channel.   I caught up with Josie and asked her a couple of questions regarding her blog and what’s coming in the future!

Me: Let's just get into it! When I subscribe to someone I want to know all there is to know about them. So I’m going to ask you a couple of random questions to get to know you better.  First question: If you were on a stranded island and you could only take one thing, what would you take?

Josie: My Mom

Me: Are you more of a bold lip kind of girl or a bold eye?

Josie: Ooh. Tough one. Probably bold eye because you could have an understated lip with bold eyes and look great but if you had a bold lip but barely any eye makeup, it might look a bit odd...

Me: Oh my goodness I know exactly what you mean! Who are your favorite people on YouTube?

Josie: Meghan Rienks, ThatsHeart, Bethany Mota, stilababe09 (Meredith), Seventeen, MyLifeAsEva, and DisneyOnBroadway.

Me: Meghan, Meredith, and Bethany are SO AMAZING! I watch there videos all the time.

Josie:Meghan is totally my favorite. She's so real.

Me:  I know what you mean. She just turned 21 right?

Josie: Yep!

Me: One more. Chocolate or Vanilla?

Josie: Vanilla!

Me: The only time I really like vanilla if it is drenched in sprinkled and cherries!
_________________________________________________________________

Me:  Is your channel strictly going to be a fashion and beauty channel or are you planning to incorporate other elements as well?

Josie:  Well, I’d like to focus on fashion and beauty, but I also like to cook and I’m totally a silly person.

Me: How often are you planning on uploading? And are you going to continue throughout the school year?

Josie: I’d like to upload videos as often as I can. But as you’ll see quite soon, our school can get very crazy. I barely had time to breath last year, so hopefully a few per month. But I don’t know if they’re will be more or less. And yes! I will totally continue throughout the school year.

Me:  How long have you been interested in making YouTube videos and how long have you been interested in fashion/beauty in general?

Josie: I mean I've been making videos really since I was 8, when I got my first camera. But as for YouTube, it’s kind of been my obsession for about a year I’d say. And I’ve loved fashion and beauty for years. I played dress up a lot when I was little J

Me: I’ve loved fashion since forever. When I was six my mom and I used to watch “ What not to Wear” together! Another question, I’ve seen Amelia Workman in you TMI tag, are you guys sharing a channel or was that just a fun thing to do together.

Josie: Amelia’s my best friend. She love’s beauty and fashion just as much as I do. No, we don’t have a shared channel, she has her own, I have my own. But that was really my first attempt at practically anything!

Me: Alrighty last question, what is the main thing we can expect from your Channel as it progresses?

Josie: Better editing and camerawork!

Josie is so amazing and I’d love for all of you to go check her out and subscribe to her channel! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtPnKX5OtqCDFHqIqZGDhYA

Morning Time Savers!

PUGG Wall clock IKEA

When the school year rolls around it can be hard to switch gears. You've just spent two and a half months #Vamping and sleeping in until noon. This can cause you to get a little crazy in the mornings. I mean in what world is it right to wake up every morning at six o’clock. Well I’m here to help ease some of that tension & craziness! I've compiled a list of  5  tips to help you get ready faster so you can sleep in a little longer.

1. Pick out your outfit the night before. This eliminates the huge process it takes in the morning. You probably will not like the outfit in the morning because you’re stressed. However it probably does look good and you just have to go with it.

2.Use a BB cream instead of a normal foundation. Beauty balm or BB cream targets & does multiple things at once so you can skip some of your usual steps.

3.Shower the night before and use dry shampoo in the morning. Hot showers are tempting in the mornings but they can take forever! It’s super easy to get distracted. So just eliminate the step entirely. Plus dry shampoo adds lots of texture and volume to your hair. It’s win-win.

4.Braid your hair the night before to get beachy waves. They turn out super nice and it looks like you spent a ton of time in the morning to get ready.
-2 braids for loose waves
-4 braids for medium waves
-6 braids for tight waves

5. Pack your bag the night before. If you’re in a hurry you’re more likely to forget something.  So take your time at night at make sure you pack everything you are going to need for the day. It helps to make a list and have it in the front pocket in our bag.

Teen Choice Awards!

I have to say everyone that attended the Teen Choice awards last night looked absolutely INCREDIBLE! In fact the whole night was incredible. Everyone really brought there A-game in the style deparment. An Amazing opening by Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd followed by corny puns and great awards! Speaking of awards can I just say that The Fault in Our Stars , oh my goodness, not only did the cast look stunning but I'm pretty sure they won every single category they were nominated for! On top of that all of their speeches were so deep and thoughtful, man I love them.

Anyways back to the looks last night, like I said early, the stars brought their A-game! Well most of them in my opinion...

The Kardashians:
They looked great as a trio. They even color coordinated but I have to say, Kylie's look was my least favorite. It was pretty ordinary, and for the Teen Choice Awards + being associated with the Kardasians, you have such high expectations held upon you. So she really didn't do it for me. Kim took more of a winter approach with her leather black crop top , but that zebra skirt worked on her! Kendall looks like a super model with this structured white jumpsuit which even though it wasn't my favorite look, it was very flattering on this girl.

Taylor Swift:
Taylor showed up in a lime green, woven, two piece crop top and skirt. Her hair was simple and messy and her makeup was flawless. Her outfit definitely fit the event perfectly. I also love that she wore a pink lip this time instead of her classic red lips. She paired it with some yellow woven high heels which I feel didn't really matched but other than that this was a major hit for me. Taylor has been rocking it in the style department this summer, props to her stylist!

Photo: http://paolatadhora.tumblr.com/post/94397373639/taylor-swift-is-ready-to-sweep-the-teen-choice-awards

Demi Lovato:
Demi broke out from the black edgy rocker look she's been pulling off lately. She owned the blue carpet with this amazing ivory thigh length dress with gold detailing. It shows of her curves in the best way possible. She also sported her new short do and subtle make up choice. Demi you were fabulous as always. After this look she took a 180 degree turn for her musical performance with Cher Lloyd, which is more of her personality.

Video from the VEVO youtube channel!

Selena Gomez:
Selena took a toned down approach last night taking some menswear inspiration here with her all black outfit. She paired it with a silver clutch to bring some color to the outfit and a very slicked back pony. Although she always looks glamorous and the outfit was flattering on her I don't feel like it was her at all . I don't know it just wasn't for me. But even though I wasn't a fan she still looks gorgeous and what a speech!

Ariana Grande:
Ariana looked flawless! She had on a white, high neck, cocktail length dress on.  And of course she had to break out her signature Ari-do with some extra volume for the high profile event. Her look was simple and glamorous and although she looked gorgeous,  I wish she would have thrown a pop of color in there somewhere. I'm sorry Ari! But I still think it worked on her and I think it was great for the event.

Photo: http://hollywoodlife.com/2014/08/10/ariana-grande-teen-choice-awards-dress-2014-pics/

Chloe Grace Morez:
I think she looked fantastic. With this outfit choice, I think it was really a hit or miss. She looked super toned and the print of this ensemble was very tribal and ethnic which I personally love. However there are a lot of mixed opinions on this look, but I love the bold color choice and I think she looks great in red! I have to say though the bandeau top was pretty risky. Props for guts girly.

Bella Thorne:
Bella's blue floral dress with faux- deep neck line worked on her extremely well. I think her hair was a bit overwhelming to the outfit. I also think she could have done a little more with her makeup, however I still think she looked great.

Middle School Advice!

Hey Everyone,

I realized a terrible fact today. I ONLY HAVE TEN DAYS LEFT BEFORE SCHOOL! Where did the time go :( Sure I like dressing up for school and meeting new people but, but, I DONT WANNA GO.

"Okay Paige you need to get it together" I think to myself...

Sorry about that. I really don't know the age range of my readers ( which is something I probably should) but I do know that I wanted to put this out there and answer any dying questions you might have about starting middle school! As an incoming freshman, I have three years of middle school under my belt so I believe ( hopefully) that I have some good advice.

  1. Middle School is really what you make of it. The biggest fear for most people is switching classes and at first it can be kind of scary, but like all things you find your rhythm and you will be able to navigate the halls pretty well. As an incoming six grader you're teachers understand that the transition from elementary school to middle school is a huge one, so they will understand if you get lost.
  2. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you don't understand something, nobody is going to judge you for asking for help. And besides you have a right to an education, so if you feel that  your not quite getting the lesson you cannot hesitate to ask questions.
  3. Form a good solid group of friends. I really didn't get a good solid group of friends until eighth grade, but it's always nice to have friends to support you through any drama that might occur. And trust me there will be drama. But again it's what you make of it. If you dwell and fight fire with fire, the problem will just get worse.
  4. I remember if anybody cursed in elementary school, they would be looked down apon. Well in middle school people automatically think that you have the green light. As a girl I have to say , it sounds super trashy when girls curse or cuse. You have such a pretty face, why ruin that with dirty words!
  5. Don't try to be older than you are. Embrace being young! Don't wear a heaping amount of makeup.
  6. There will most likely be school dances. Every school is different but for my school we did not dress up for them. It was more of an after school night club atmosphere. Others schools might be different so ask around and see what everyone else is going to wear. Also just to put it out there, a dance is always better when you go with a large group of friends. The only dance I ever dressed up for was my eighth grade formal. I went with my best friends because " Who needs boys ;) "

7. You definitely get more homework than in elementary school but you get used to it. Always keep a planner of when everything is due so you don't forget. TIP: Personalize your planner so that your proud of it and you will use it more.

8.  Be social . Middle is a great time to establish your social skills. Everyone is in the same boat. Your all going to be shy at first but someone always has to make the first move right. And trust me the more times you practice talking to and having a small conversation with someone, the better and more confident you will be at it. And who know maybe that person could turn out to be your best friend.

9. You are going to get bad grades. Its so hard to adjust to the different style of teaching in middle school. There will be times were you are going to fall short. Establish some good study habits and it will make your grades improve.

10. Above all just be yourself. This sounds so cliche, but its absolutely true. If you're true to yourself people will respect you so much more. DO NOT CHANGE for anybody. Let your imagination run wild !

The 90's are Back Baby!

Every so often a popular trend from a past decade comes back and invades our time. I mentioned a while back that scrunchies were making a come back, but the whole 90's seems to be making a reappearance. Now I may have only lived 10 days in the nineties but I still now the look when I see it. And as a women in love with new trends, I have to say I'm loving the new interpretation of this retro style.  Even Iggy Azalea got in on the action in her " Fancy" video which was actually an homage to a popular 90's movie "Clueless", which by the way is one of my all time favorites.

What I like about the revival however is the silhouettes are slimmer and more fit. But let's face it, what isn't today?

Lot's and Lot's Of Overalls:

Combat Boots
And that's not even half of it! The nineties grunge style is great for the fall season and perfect for back to school! So what do you think? Are you happy about the reunion? Comment down below!

Back To School with Beth!

The new Bethany Mota- Back To School Collection came out recently and I am so excited! I love Bethany's style so much and her personality really comes through, through her collection. The collection consist of lots of cute graphic tee's, printed button ups, super snuggly sweaters, accessories, and even shoes! Plus the new collection also features her new perfume!!! I haven't gotten a chance to smell it yet, but everyone raves about it and I would love to pick it up. I am most impressed by how realistic the clothing line is for school, the clothes are appropriate and on trend which is definitely something for the plus column.

Side Note: I am so happy that Bethany Mota is doing so well. I've watched her videos for a little over a year now and she seems like one of the sweetest people ever. I actually thought I saw her once at a Panera, but unfortunately it was just a girl that looked EXTREMELY similar. But hey Beth, if you ever need a stunt double I know where you can find one ;)

You should totally check this collection out and tell me what you think! Also you can subscribe to Bethany's Channel if you're feeling up to it! Her videos are always so happy and upbeat, that just make you smile!

Super Cute Back-To-School Hairstyles

Back to school is a great time to try out new hairstyles, and since we have a little time before school officially starts here are some hairstyles that you can master now!

The Half Up Half Down :
The girl in this video is named Zoella and I love the hairstyle she did in this video. It is so simple and easy and ever since I watched it, I've fell in love with it. Its something you could do quickly and casually, or you could curl the underneath and have a throwback Ariana Moment.

The Braided Crown:
This video comes from Seventeen's YouTube channel. This hairstyle always looks super complicated on Pinterest, but it's really not. I love that it looks professionally done and that you tried super hard to do you hair, when in actuality, you didn't.

If you can't guess by now, I like my back to school hairstyles to be easy! The girl in the video is named Chelsea Crockett, AKA BeautyLicousInsider. I have to say that this girl is amazing and such a role model to me.

Move over Ombre, Sombre's here!

Every one loves a good Ombre, I know I do! Especially when Miley sported this super sweet curly, bob, Ombre hair last year. But Ombres, those fun super dark to super light hairstyles, seem a little bit to drastic for the fall season. Fall time is all about softer colors and cooler weather. And even though fall isn't here yet... ITS COMING ( to a theater near you ).  :)  Luckily a new hair trend has been spotted that is perfect for fall. Its more natural and definitely not as bold as its closely related sister Ombre.

This new style is called the Sombre. Whenever I hear that word I always think of the samba... I don't even know.
The Sombre is very close to an Ombre in that the color goes from dark ( at the roots) to light ( on the ends). However with the Sombre, the color change from
root to tip is not as widely ranged ,and the colors are much softer and subtle . This new color trend is definitely on the rise and has been spotted on celebs like Ana Kendrick, Vanessa Hudges, and Lea Michelle.

I am definitely hoping to try out this hairstyle and I'm so glad I didn't die my hair PINK when I said I was going to...

So what are your thoughts on the new Sombre trend? Are you thinking about trying it? What Celebrity do you think would benefit from this trend? Leave your comments down below!
